1. Africa Oyé 

Are you ready to make the most of your summer break in Liverpool? If so, Africa Oye is not one to shy away from.

The legendary Africa Oye is the largest celebration of African and Caribbean music in the UK and takes centre stage in June, within Liverpool’s Sefton Park. 

This annual event is a great chance to appreciate different cultures with live music performances, workshops, DJs, as well as over 90 different stalls showcasing the best food, drink, arts and craft and fashion from Africa and beyond.

Entrance to the festival on June 17th and 18th is completely free, so gather your squad, pack a picnic blanket, and get ready to dance along!

2. Liverpool Disco Festival 

Do you fancy dancing away to the best tunes, enjoying some tipples and soaking up the good vibes this summer? Liverpool Disco Festival is a must for all you disco divas out there. 

The Liverpool Disco Festival is celebrating its 10th year on Saturday 19th of August, where you can boogie down from 2pm until 12am. 

The fantastic line-up features live bands and a host of disco and house DJs including Ten City, Odyssey, John Morales, Byron Stingily, Rahaan, Marcel Vogel, and many more.

3. LIMF 2023 

Calling all music lovers…Liverpool International Music Festival is back for 2023 and is set to be another amazing year. 

This annual music festival has taken place in the stunning backdrop of Sefton Park since 2012 and showcases a diverse range of musical genres and incredible talents. 

Whilst the line-up for this year’s LIMF event is not yet confirmed, we’re sure there will be a whole host of emerging and established artists that will leave you grooving all night long. 

Get ready to sing your heart out, soak up the sun, make amazing memories with your friends and maybe even discover your new favourite band this July!

4. On The Waterfront 

Liverpool truly comes alive during the summer and one event you definitely need to be part of this year is On the Waterfront.

Running from the 29th of June until the 2nd of July, On the Waterfront is a series of shows and live performances located on Liverpool’s Pier Head, in front of the iconic Three Graces. 

This year marks the second year of the festival, with Jamie Webster performing two sold-out shows on Thursday 29th and Friday, 30th June, and Camelphat on Saturday 1st July, and James, The Coral, Red Rum Club on the Sunday.

We can’t think of a better place to experience a concert, right on the stunning Liverpool waterfront – you’re bound to get some amazing photos! 

Tickets for some of the shows have sold out, but if you’re quick, you can secure a ticket to one of the dates.

5. Liverpool Pride 

Nothing says summer like parading through the streets of Liverpool celebrating the city’s amazing LGBT+ community, and Merseyside sure know how to host a Pride festival. 

Every year, around 75,000 people take part in Liverpool Pride making it one of the largest free Gay Pride festivals in Europe.

Liverpool Pride celebrates diversity and equality for all, and is held on the closest weekend to August 2nd in memory of the death of Michael Causer, a young gay man who was murdered in the city in 2008.

Gather with the people of Liverpool on Saturday 30th July at the Pier Head to take part in an exciting yearly event featuring a march, a main pride site with musical performances and other activities.

6. Summer Yard Party – Meraki 

If you’re wanting to dive into the fantastic array of summer events that Liverpool has to offer, the Summer Yard Party is one to check out. 

Yard Party returns to Meraki for 2023, with over 12 hours of music across 2 stages and over 40 artists across multiple genres. 

On the 1st of June, you can celebrate the end of the academic year and dance along to tunes by Amber Rose, Miggs, Alfie Wren, DJ Northy and so many more big names.

7. Heathers The Musical 

Do you love the theatre? So do we, and one show in particular which you won’t want to miss this summer is Heathers The Musical.

Live at the Liverpool Empire from the 4th until the 8th of July, Heathers is a black comedy rock musical based on the 1989 cult classic film. 

This sell-out West End smash hit tells the story of Westerberg High’s Veronica Sawyer, a nobody dreaming of a better day who joins the beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers. We’ll leave the rest up to you to discover!

8. Baltic Weekender 2023 

For all you music fans out there, Baltic Weekender 2023 should be the top of your list when it comes to summer events. 

The festival takes over Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle on Friday 2nd of June and Saturday 3rd of June, with a huge line up of over 100 house, techno, grime and DnB artists taking over multiple venues and warehouses. 

Some of the mega performers include Folamour, Interplanetary Criminal, Bakey, Amber Rose, for a full line-up breakdown head to the official website.

9. Craft Beer Expo 

If you’re a craft beer enthusiast, the Craft Beer Expo is an unmissable event this summer. 

An annual celebration of beer, the Craft Beer Expo is celebrating its 10th edition this year, so we’re sure 2023 is going to be bigger and better than ever. 

The celebration of beer will be taking place at Black Lodge Brewery in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle on the 8th until the 10th of June.

You can expect a weekend filled with great beer, great food, great tunes and great vibes – where do we sign up?! 

You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy not just craft beer, but also cider, gin, and cocktails. Get a ticket and make special moments with your pals.

10. Reminisce Festival 

Reminisce Festival is a staple of festival season in Liverpool, and is famed as being one of the most feel-good events in the country. 

On Saturday 9th September, Reminisce will be taking over St Helens Sherdley Park with a  massive line up of old skool dance, nineties pop, club classics and house anthems so you can party all day long.

Reminisce, a mainstay in the local music scene since 2014, promises an unforgettable experience with over 100 DJs and performers across 6 different stages.
