For starters, this food hub is conveniently located round the corner from Old Market Square so if you’re looking for somewhere easy to get to for a meal, here’s the place.

This family ran restaurant offers delicious Mediterranean food and also features an extensive range of gluten-free and vegetarian options on their menu.

Choose as many mouth-watering tapas dishes as you like, such as Chicken Kapama, Aubergines and Zucchini or Halloumi Saganaki.

They also offer a lunch menu if you want a mid-day treat, and you can get 3 Tapas/Meze dishes for £10.95 per person – wow!

If Indian food is your go-to then you just have to visit The Cumin restaurant.

You’ll find this place situated between Market Square and Nottingham Castle.

This family ran eatery offers authentic North Indian and Punjabi cuisine in a modern space spread across two floors so, there’s tons of places to sit.

Enjoy plates like Goan Prawn Curry, Old Deli Buer Chicken or Chilli Paneer – how yummy do they sound! There’s an array of food available for vegans and vegetarians too.

They also have an array of drinks available like rum, whiskey, vodka and gin or non-alcoholic drinks like Mango Lassi.

It’s dubbed as the best Indian food in Nottingham by locals so why not try it out for yourself? Ask your flatmates if they want to join and make an evening out of it!

3. Son Of Steak

Son Of Steak is a steakhouse and restaurant on Trinity Square in Nottingham city centre, known for its legendary Flat Iron.

This place pride themselves on being a fast casual and unpretentious eatery. Not only is the vibe here great, but their food is simply to die for.

They offer steaks, burgers, chicken and plant-based dishes so no matter your diet you can eat good. It’s the perfect place for a bite to eat and some drinks with your pals!

4. Casa Italian

Whilst fairly new on the restaurant scene within Nottingham, Casa Italian serves the finest Italian food in the city.

They offer fresh and authentic dishes from their award-winning chef, so they for sure know how what they’re doing!

If you’re after a great tasting pasta dish, you can choose from plates like Penne Alfredo, Spaghetti Polpette and Tagliatelle Montecarlo. Because who doesn’t love a big bowl of pasta and garlic bread?!

The atmosphere here is wonderful and the staff are super friendly, we’re sure you’ll be returning a fair bit after giving this place a try – it might just become your local!

5. Annie’s Burger Shack

Sometimes all you want is a good burger, we’re with you on that, it’s the ultimate comfort food.

Well, Annie’s Burger Shack is heaven on earth for students in Notts.

They offer over 30 types of the best burgers inspired by Rhode Island cuisine, they’re handmade with area-sourced beef and there’s even veggie and vegan options available too!

You can sit down and take in the atmosphere or order to takeaway, it’s up to you.

We recommend the The Boston Nibbler or The Peppino Pizza (yep, that is a pizza styled burger).

All burgers come with a choice of skinny fries, curly fries, onion rings or sweet potato fries – mmm.

They also offer a range of drinks from milkshakes to fizzy drinks to alcoholic bevvies. Don’t wait, go treat yourself to an Annie’s!

6. Copper Café

Copper Café is one of the best restaurants in Nottingham offering brunch, lunch, light bites and dinner.

So, no matter what time of day it is you can come visit these guys to get your taste-buds melting!

Located on the corner of Market Street and Parliament Street, opposite the Theatre Royal you’ll find this stylish yet chilled venue.

Their menu varies by season, but you can choose from an array of meals like the Brunch Burger, Crispy Calamari or the Salmon Supreme.

If you’re looking for places to eat for a catch up with your mates after a day of uni, you should head here.

They have a range of cocktails and bevvies to choose from if you fancy a few drinks, and a 2-for-1 deal Monday to Friday 4-7pm!

Not to forget, they also have live music on the weekends so if you’re looking for a buzzing place to spend your evening there you have it (munch on their yum bar snacks).

7. Tipoo Turkish Restaurant

Proudly boasting traditional Turkish food is Tipoo, a restaurant which has been loved by locals and students alike for over 30 years.

You’ll find this place near to Nottingham’s Canning Circus area on Alfreton Road.

Feast on a variety of spectacular dishes including Lamb Doner Wraps, Vegetarian Moussaka and Chicken Beyti.

They’re open from 12pm-12am everyday of the week so if you want something to eat as a mid-afternoon treat or something to soak up some cocktails after being out in town then you can!

If that wasn’t enough, they also serve a range of desserts and hot and cold drinks.

We’d recommend the Turkish Coffee and Baklava, what will you try? You don’t wanna miss out on this place!

8. The Magic Garden

When it comes to places to eat in Nottingham, The Magic Garden is our favourite hidden gem.

This bar and restaurant is hidden away behind The Lace Market on Low Pavement and is simply a must-try.

If the insta-worthy interiors don’t intrigue you, we’re sure their fabulous menu will.

Choose from their selection of tapas dishes like Sticky Chicken Bites, Crispy Gnocchi or Patas Bravas.

They also offer toasted flatbreads like their much-loved Classic Margherita.

There’s indoor and outdoor seating available in this super chic venue, and they even have an outdoor cinema which takes place seasonally.

Although, there’s only a few showings left for September you can expect well-known films on the big screen with cosy seating and food and drinks on offer!

9. Oscar & Rosie’s

Oscar & Rosie’s is an independent pizza restaurant in Notts on Stoney Street, not far from the Motorpoint Arena.

What started off as a pop-up street food hub has since expanded into an award-winning destination for scran.

One thing’s for certain, they know how to create a banging pizza.

Whether you’re after a tasty meaty pizza like the Barcelona Sausage Party, or the plant-based Vegan Magic Mushroom or even a plain-Jane St Martin’s Margherita, their menu has it all. You’re spoilt for choice really.

They also serve tons of drinks from beers and ciders to fresh juices to bottled lemonades – mm refreshing!

Be prepared to fall in love with the atmosphere here, with their casual dining concept and friendly service, we’re sure you’ll be coming again and again.

10. Prickly Pear

Lastly within our guide of the best places to eat in Nottingham is Prickly Pear, a fantastic plant-based restaurant located just outside of the city centre.

Don’t get it wrong, this place might be smaller than most food hubs, but they sure know how to serve up some great vegan food.

You can stuff your face with homemade dishes like Mac n Cheese, Death by Doner or the Breakfast Burrito.

Wash down with a milkshake, smoothie, soft drink or hot drink or if you’re wanting a bevvie, they have a few alcoholic options too.

Whether you’re a vegan or veggie or not, you’ll still love the good quality and cheap eats on offer here.

The vibe is awesome, and they’re dog friendly so what’s not to like?!
